Pregnancy Confirmation | What Is It?
An ultrasound is a critical tool in diagnosing a pregnancy. Using high-frequency sound waves allows the sonographer to 'see' inside the uterus and diagnose the location, viability, and gestational age of a fetus. All three findings are necessary prior to an abortion or carrying to term.
If you suspect that you are pregnant, Caring Hearts Pregnancy Center provides the space you need to learn possible options, next steps, and the answers to your questions in a friendly, peaceful environment. No judgment. No pressure.
How Can an Ultrasound Help?
A first-trimester ultrasound provides important information about your body and your pregnancy that may affect your options. Whether or not an ultrasound is required, we recommend having one for the following reasons:
-
Pregnancy viability: Does the embryo/fetus have a heartbeat?
-
Tubal pregnancy: Location of the pregnancy to verify the embryo/fetus is in the uterus and not in the fallopian tubes, which can be a life-threatening emergency.
-
Gestational age and estimated due date based on the size of the embryo/fetus.
-
Miscarriage
-
Multiple fetuses
How Much Does It Cost?
At Caring Hearts Pregnancy Center we provide our ultrasounds free of charge. However, an ultrasound can cost anywhere from $200 to $800, depending on the location, state, and type of facility. The average cost of an ultrasound without insurance is $400. Don’t wait. Come see us today.
